Detective Steed McGraw is readily captivated when beautiful network TV journalist Darci Clarke enters his Sterling, SC, office to report the murder of her best friend, Kenneth Warwick. But captivation soon leads to frustration when she refuses to accept the fact that her friend's death has been ruled a suicide.Living for years with the pain of unanswered questions after his policeman father dies in the line of duty, Steed does everything he can to spare Darci the pain he's lived with for most of his life.
