The margarita is one of the best-known cocktails out there, and Pardilla (editor at Imbibe magazine) pulls together a staggering number of recipes for this iconic drink, from bartenders across the U.S. and Mexico, including Jos Andrs and multiple Imbibe 75 honorees. This volume covers everything from classic recipes, including the iconic Tommy's Margarita and fruity riffs plus more esoteric mashups and craft recipes. There are a number of beginner-friendly options here for margaritas and margarita-adjacent drinks, but experimentation is also encouraged, and more challenging recipes, like the clarified margarita, are available for those who want to take their cocktail-making skills to the next level. A discussion of selecting tequilas is included, which is helpful, as many of the recipe creators specify their preferred brands. Pardilla has thoughtfully included extensive advice for home bartenders, including surprisingly detailed instructions on how to properly salt the rim of a glass. Batched recipes and several low-ABV and nonalcoholic options are interspersed throughout, a bonus for a book that truly has a cocktail for all margarita lovers. VERDICT Pardilla's first book is a standout in an overcrowded sea of cocktail books.--Whitney Kramer
